Project Overview
Prima Pearl is a residential skyscraper under construction in the Southbank precinct of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Upon completion, the building will stand at 254 metres (833 feet) high; making it the fourth tallest building in Melbourne, and the fifth tallest in Australia. The building will comprise 667 apartments, across 72 levels.
Form700 Scope
Form700 have been selected as principle contractor to undertake the 72 level structure. The $292 Million dollar building has approximately 42,536 m3 of concrete, which includes Suspended slabs, Core Walls, Columns and Stairs.
Form700’s role included all the works involved in building the concrete structure; supplying and erecting formwork; supply and fix reinforcement; supply, pump, place and finish concrete; supply and operation of Form700 Self-Climbing Core Systems and Form700 Self-Climbing Perimeter Safety Screens. Form700’s design team was instrumental in the final building design. Form700’s design, planning and approach allowed slabs to be poured at astonishing speeds averaging 4 day/level cycle.
A Level being completed every 4 days meant the tower could progress incredibly fast and way ahead of program.
The level 10 transfer floor was a challenge with a gross floor area of 1994m2, it had 2674m3 of concrete with 536 tonnes of reinforcement and was completed within 18 days.
