Project Overview
This project involved the construction of 360 modern apartments, including a gymnasium, swimming pool, sauna, spa, business lounge and three Ground Floor retail tenancies. The building is Victoria’s first 6-Star energy efficient apartment tower. The prevailing ground conditions were very unstable and unpredictable. This meant that a bored pile foundation system needed to be adopted to support the loads from the 40 storey building above. It is worth noting that these piles were in the order of 35m deep. A complex level 8 transfer slab supporting 34 storeys above involving up to 1900mm deep, heavily reinforced band beams was also required.
Form 700 Scope
Form700 were contracted for the supply and placement of concrete including the supply of Form700 Self-Climbing Core Systems and Form700 Self-Climbing Perimeter Safety Screens. Reinforcement and post tensioning works on this project. With emphasis placed on the energy performance of the building, Form700 had to work closely with numerous project stakeholders to ensure these requirements were met whilst the project programme was adhered to.
